“Rest and Refocus” is intended to remind and encourage believers to practice obedience to rest and spend time alone with God.
The “Prayer” page provides examples of prayer from the Bible and other sources. Approval to publish scriptures and borrowed prayers was received prior to publication.
Bible Study guides provide exercises and questions, much like we all learned in former Literature classes, that will help you slow down and take a closer look scripture. When combined with prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will be able to observe the text, let scripture interpret scripture, and learn how to put Biblical truth and instructions into practice.
You will find true accounts on the “Inspiration” page, though names may have been changed for anonymity. Approval to publish these accounts was received prior to publication.
About the Author:
In the spirit of anonymity, I have chosen to use the pen name, Kate. Those of you who know me well, know that I’ve never liked my real name, and I’m so looking forward to having a new name in heaven…preferably Kate. I’ve always liked the name Kate, and it became even sweeter to me when my husband used it on love notes when we were courting.
I am a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of four. I grew up attending church and have always believed in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and that the Bible was God’s word. In my adult life, I was on fire for the Lord in one season, then not-so-much in the next. I would read the Bible occasionally, picking and choosing the commands that fit with my plans, and would try to be a good person, despite the many poor choices I was making. It wasn’t until I started attending a women’s Bible Study that I realized how little I knew my God and how my disobedience was the same as unbelief. (Hebrews 3; John 3:36) Repentance and full submission to Christ followed and a true transformation began in my life.
Several Bible Studies later, I accepted the call to leadership. Over the last 16+ years, I have led, taught, and written Bible studies under the supervision & mentoring of many godly people. My heart has forever been changed and a passion ignited to encourage others in their walk and study of God's word. (2Timothy 3:16, 17)
