Morning Songs
When I wake each day
There is a song in my heart
A sweet melody
Words of joy to impart
Your soul will be blessed
As I share them with you
Sit and rest for a while
You’ll recognize a few
They serve as reminders
Of all that’s above
Of our sweet Savior, Jesus
And His deep love
His commands, His mercy,
His unending grace
His will and power given
To finish the race
They encourage and strengthen
Bring praise to our lips
Lift us up from the mire
Those times our foot slips
Dear reminders of how
In Him we have power
His Spirit within us
To guide every hour
Songs meant for worship
Of our great Lord the King
To praise and adore Him
Oh, the life that they bring.
May joy fill up your heart
And your feet not be still
As the Spirit moves
Please dance if you will
I pray that a fire
be kindled inside
To seek, know, and obey Him
His light not to hide
Let His sacrifice and love
Be known to all
Enlighten, encourage
So they will not fall
Be delivered from sorrow
Let Him comfort your pain
His treasures are endless
Eternal life is to gain
There will be struggles
So stay in His word
Confess your sin often
Your prayers will be heard
As I wake with a song
I’m reminded to see
All that He’s given
And done for me
It starts my day off
With the right attitude
To be kind, gentle, loving
And not to be rude
Before my eyes open
The words start to flow
To my face comes a smile
For the Savior, I know
As I lift up my head
From soft pillow below
The warmth of His love
In my heart, it does grow
My feet hit the floor
With a spring in my step
The thought of Him lingers
Giving me lots of pep
So, ask for a song
Each morn when you rise
Sweet reminders of Jesus
Wait for your surprise.
