Praying Scripture – Holiness

March 15, 2017 Denise

“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts

which were yours in your ignorance,

but like the Holy One who called you,

be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written,

“YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”

-1Peter 1:14-16 NASB®

In the quest for holiness, one should pray the following scriptures often:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart;

Try me and know my anxious thoughts;

And see if there be any hurtful way in me,

And lead me in the everlasting way.”

 -Psalm 139:23,24 NASB®

˷ ˷ ˷

“Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God;

Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”

-Psalm 143:10 NASB®

˷ ˷ ˷

“Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth;

Unite my heart to fear Your name.

I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,

And will glorify Your name forever.

For Your lovingkindness toward me is great,

And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.”

-Psalm 86:11-13 NASB®

˷ ˷ ˷

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Do not cast me away from Your presence

And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation

And sustain me with a willing spirit.

Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,

And sinners will be converted to You.

-Psalm 51:10-13 NASB®
